PIMA COUNTY, April 10, 2024—Pima County is partnering with employers in education and the public sector to hold a job fair on Thursday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kino Event Center, 2805 E. Ajo Way.
Pima County will have the following departments represented: Human Resources, Recorders, Pima County Transportation, Sheriff’s Department, County Attorney, Courts, Community & Workforce Development, Facilities Management, and the Health Department, among others.
Other employers expected to attend include Sunnyside Unified School District, Pima Community College, Sahuarita Unified School District, the Town of Sahuarita, Tucson Police Department, and Oro Valley Police Department.
Pima County Human Resources Director Cathy Bohland said the recent Classification and Compensation study has increased salaries, making Pima County an even more desirable employer for job seekers. Indeed, applications climbed from 2,533 in September 2023 to 3,691 in October and spiked, so far, to 5,504 in January 2024.
“Our Class and Comp study has allowed us to make changes that have truly positioned Pima County as an employer of choice,” Bohland said. “Job seekers won’t want to miss this fair and find out how they can build their future with Pima County.”
Many hiring departments will have staff members on hand to answer questions.
The County will have computers available for job seekers to apply on-site.
