The arena is completing a $7.8M remodel which added all new seats, bathrooms, concession area, a new lobby and entrance, sound and new lights. Thousands of tickets have been sold for the show but the District board wanted to do something for the merchants that support downtown development through sales tax receipts.
The Rio Nuevo board has approved a 50% ticket discount for up to 30 tickets each for merchants that do business within the Rio Nuevo district, which extends from downtown along Broadway to Park Place Mall. The regular ticket price of $25.00 will be discounted for Rio Nuevo merchants to give to staff, clients, or use as in store give a ways.

In other action the Board approved further engineering work on the parcel of land at the base of A Mountain, which is a former landfill the district hopes to develop.
Mark Collins, the District legal counsel advised the Board that he hopes to bring a complete agreement regarding the development of the Arena Lot with Nor Generation by the December 17, 2014 board meeting.
Collins also updated the board on the legal opinion requested of the Attorney General regarding the applicability of the gift clause. The Board has tabled the approval of $75,000 toward the January 8th Memorial Development while awaiting an opinion from the AG. The Goldwater Institute has indicated that it will not pursue the issue.
