TUCSON, AZ (May 11, 2026) - Supervisor Rex Scott issued the following statement in response to the recent incident at the offices of Lazarus & Silvyn:
"I condemn the dangerous and irresponsible actions of masked protesters who invaded the offices of the Lazarus and Silvyn law firm yesterday. Their behavior was intimidating and threatening. To characterize what they did as civil disobedience would besmirch the proud meaning of the term."
"Our community has a long tradition of civic engagement, and I strongly support every resident’s right to peacefully express their views and participate in public conversations about projects that impact our community," Scott continued. "Thoughtful public input is an important part of the process and helps shape better outcomes for everyone."
"At the same time, disagreements must never cross the line into intimidation or threats. No employee, business owner, or member of the public should feel unsafe in their workplace or community."
"I appreciate the quick response of the Tucson Police Department and am grateful that no injuries were reported."
