Direct activity accounted for 1,533 jobs, $84.5 million in labor income, $230 million in economic output, and $8.9 million in tax revenues. Secondary impacts from supply-chain activity and household spending added another 1,537 jobs, $75.4 million in labor income, $229.8 million in economic output and $7.9 million in tax revenues.
Tech Launch Arizona serves as the University of Arizona’s technology transfer and commercialization office, connecting university researchers, students, faculty, and alumni with entrepreneurs, investors, and private-sector partners. The analysis credits TLA with helping move university-developed technologies and intellectual property into the marketplace, supporting high-wage technology businesses and broader statewide economic activity.
Since FY 2017, TLA and TLA-linked businesses have supported an estimated 22,312 job-years, generated $1.2 billion in labor income, produced $3.3 billion in economic output, and generated $122.2 million in state and local tax revenues. Looking ahead, the report projects TLA-linked activity will support 16,457 job-years, $855.5 million in labor income, $2.5 billion in economic output, and $90 million in tax revenues from FY 2026 through FY 2030.
