Terracon Foundation

TUCSON, Ariz. (Feb. 20, 2026) – The Terracon Foundation announced a $6,000 grant to the University of Arizona in support of undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in geotechnical engineering, including materials and structural-related areas within the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Mechanics (CAEM).

“The grant will be used to enhance existing research opportunities and support students with financial need with priority given to those in the Accelerated Master’s Program, though all geotechnical-focused students are eligible,” said Derek Koller, CIH, CHMM, operations manager in Terracon’s Tucson office. “This award supplements the Terracon Foundation endowment and other financial support dollars to attract top-quality students and ensure they have the resources they need to successfully complete their studies.”

UA is the state’s land-grant university with about 45,000 enrolled students. A leader in research with more than $1 billion in research expenditures, it is a top producer of Fulbright Scholars and is ranked by the National Science Foundation as No. 7 in physical sciences research.
