PIMA COUNTY, (Aug. 27, 2026) – Kino Sports Complex, the Arizona Fall League (AFL), and new partner MQ360 Sports & Entertainment, a division of Mosaic Quarter, are teaming up to bring top Major League Baseball prospects to Tucson.
Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium will host an AFL doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 10, with games at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Kino was scheduled to host a tripleheader last October, but the event was canceled because of weather concerns related to Hurricane Priscilla.
“The weather had other plans for us last year, so we’re especially excited to bring the Arizona Fall League to Kino in 2026,” said Kino Sports Complex Director Sarah Hanna. “This is a great opportunity for our local baseball fans to see some of the game’s top young talent right here at home.”
This will mark the Arizona Fall League’s first appearance in Tucson since 2002.
The six-team AFL features top prospects from every Major League Baseball organization. Forty-one percent of all players named to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game were AFL alums, according to the league. Last year’s AFL participants included Detroit Tigers shortstop Kevin McGonigle, now a leading candidate for American League Rookie of the Year.
Notable recent alumni include Ronald Acuña Jr., Bryce Harper, and Mike Trout.
The Tucson Javelinas were an original AFL team, playing in the 1992 and 1993 seasons, before relocating to the Phoenix area. The AFL returned for one game in 1994, when nearly 8,000 packed Hi Corbett Field to see basketball superstar Michael Jordan suit up for the Scottsdale Scorpions during his stint in the Chicago White Sox minor league system.
The AFL returned for three games in Tucson in 2002.

- 12:30 p.m. -- Peoria Javelinas vs. Mesa Solar Sox
- 3:30 p.m. -- Scottsdale Scorpions vs. Salt River Rafters
The AFL doubleheader won’t be the only baseball action at Kino in October. The 15th annual Mexican Baseball Fiesta returns to Veterans Memorial Stadium from Oct. 1-4, featuring the University of Arizona and four teams from the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico. The popular event culminates with a Sunday doubleheader and concert.
