Valerie Ahyong, PLA, LEED AP, Lead Landscape Architect Planning Center

TEMPE, Arizona - Valerie Ahyong, PLA, LEED AP, joins The Planning Center’s Tempe location as the lead landscape architect. In her role, she will design and implement projects for parks, schools, streets, community gardens, and green roofs, and will also conduct work in the healthcare, mixed-use, residential and multi-family markets.

In addition to having expertise in the fields mentioned, Ahyong’s experience includes work on a variety of projects, including small-scale infill, student housing, hospitals, assisted living and industrial projects throughout Arizona and the US. She works successfully with engineers, architects, developers, home builders, and construction firms to provide open communication and efficiency with positive track records, and has been part of many successful project teams throughout the Valley.

Ahyong currently serves as the public awareness chair for the Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (AzASLA), and has previously served as the organization’s central section chair. In addition, she has served as the emerging professional chair for the National American Society of Landscape Architects.

Valerie holds a master’s in landscape architecture and a bachelor’s in business administration and marketing from Arizona State University.
