TUCSON, AZ (May 6, 2024) -- The Vail Unified School District broke ground on Saguaro Creek K-8, the district’s newest school, on Thursday, May 2, in Rocking K Master Planned Community.
Saguaro Creek will be located at 8150 South Rocking K Ranch Loop and should open in July 2025. This will be VUSD's 22nd school.
“Saguaro Creek honors Vail’s tradition to name schools after their natural surroundings,” the district said in a release. “The area’s natural surroundings include Saguaro National Park and a variety of creeks and washes.”
Kate Robold, currently the leader of Ocotillo Ridge, will be the school’s planning principal. The district said Swaim Associates is the architect, and Concord General is the contractor.
