PIMA COUNTY – The Pima County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an ordinance, Monday Aug. 20, to restrict parking of vehicles weighing more than 20,000 pounds on dedicated Pima County road right-of-way in residential areas.

The ordinance covers trucks, tractor trailers, semi-trailers, vehicle transporters and other large vehicles. The change creates a blanket rule on all dedicated Pima County right-of-way in residential areas, whether marked with signage or not.

The change is intended to minimize congestion, noise, roadway damage and altering the character of neighborhoods.

Trucks and other large vehicles may temporarily park on Pima County right-of-way for purposes of deliveries, pick-ups, loading, unloading, or to provide construction and repair services while the activity is being performed.
