
The following leases were reported during the week of August 4 - 8, 2014 to the Phoenix Lease Report:
RETAIL – 500 S. ARIZONA MILLS CIRCLE, TEMPE AZ
Representing Garden Ridge, Darren Pitts of Velocity Retail Group leased 104,967-square-feet at Arizona Mills on the northeast corner of Baseline Road and the I-10 in Tempe, AZ in a three-year lease. The landlord, Simon Property Group was represented by Todd Folger of CBRE.
RETAIL – EL MIRAGE RETAIL CENTER, EL MIRAGE, AZ
Planning the new construction of a full retail store, Goodwill Industries of Central Arizonawas represented by Velocity Retail Group’s Andy Kroot in the 15-year lease of 25,000-square-feet at El Mirage Retail Plaza on the southeast corner of Thunderbird Road and Dysart Road in El Mirage, AZ. Jason Fessinger of Strategic Retail Group represented the landlord.
RETAIL – KINGMAN FRONTIER PLAZA, KINGMAN, AZ
Dave Cheatham, Darren Pitts, Michael Clark and John Jackson of Velocity Retail Group worked together to represent both the tenant, Fallas, and the landlord, Kingman Frontier Plaza at the I-10Freeway and Stockton Hill Road in Kingman, AZ in the ten-year lease of 24,268 square feet of shop space. This is the last Big Box space in the Kingman project and stabilizes the center.
RETAIL – INDIAN SCHOOL PLAZA, PHOENIX, AZ
Velocity Retail Group’s Andy Kroot represented Goodwill Industries of Central Arizonain the five-year lease of 14,724-square-feet at Indian School Plaza on the southwest on the southwest corner of Indian School Road and 7th Avenue in Phoenix, AZ. The opening of this new retail store has not been set.
RETAIL – NE CORNER OF SOUTHERN AVE. & ALMA SCHOOL, MESA, AZ
Larry Miller and John Jackson of Velocity Retail Group represented Ascenders, LLC, dba Boulders on Southern in the seven-year lease of 6,200-square-feet at Fiesta Commons on the northeast corner of Southern Avenue and Alma School Road in Mesa, AZ. This will be the third valley location for the group that brought Boulders on Broadway and Spokes on Southern to Tempe. The new restaurant is estimated to open by December of this year.
RETAIL – 19025 N. 83rd AVE, PEORIA, AZ
Representing The Sherwin-Williams Company, Larry Miller and John Jackson of Velocity Retail Group leased 4,260-square-feet at 19025 N. 83rd Avenue in Peoria, AZ. The five-year lease represents the second new store signed by Sherwin-Williams in 2014, and will allow them to expand their footprint in the Phoenix Metro market. The landlord, Mohr Partners was represented by Jared Lively of Rein & Grossoehme. The store is scheduled to open in November of this year.
RETAIL – SW CORNER SHEA BLVD. AND SCOTTSDALE RD., SCOTTSDALE, AZ
Dave Cheatham, Darren Pitts, and Nick Ault of Velocity Retail Group represented U.S. Egg Restaurant in a fifteen-year lease of 3,855-square-feet at the southwest corner of Shea Boulevard and Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, AZ. The landlord was represented by Kurt Kalocin of SRS. This will be the 6th restaurant in the Phoenix market for U.S. Egg and is scheduled to open Q1, 2015.
RETAIL- GREENWAY CROSSING, SURPRISE, AZ
John Jackson, Larry Miller, and Michael Clark of Velocity Retail Group represented the landlord at Greenway Crossing on the northeast corner of Loop 303 and Greenway Road in Surprise, AZ, in a 72-month lease of 3,800-square-feet with Heart and Sole Dance Studio. Parkway. The tenant was represented by Greg Garcia of Green Street Commercial. This is the first location for Heart and Sole, and is scheduled for a September 1, 2014 opening.
RETAIL- NE CORNER OF BASELIND RD. & 35th AVE., LAVEEN VILLAGE, AZ
Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen was represented by Dave Cheatham, Michael Clark, and Nick Ault of Velocity Retail Group in the 15-year lease of a 3,000-square-foot, freestanding building at the northwest corner of Baseline Road and 35th Avenue in Laveen Village, AZ. This will be one of the first three Popeye’s to open in the Phoenix Market and is scheduled to open in November of this year. The landlord, Hinkson Companies was self-represented by James Neal.
RETAIL – McDOWELL MOUNTAIN MARKETPLACE, SCOTTSDALE, AZ
Goodwill Industries of Central Arizona also plans to open a new donation center at McDowell Mountain Marketplace on the southwest corner of Bell Road and Thompson Peak Parkway in Scottsdale, AZ this September. Andy Kroot of Velocity Retail represented Goodwill in the one-year lease of 1,765-square-feet at the center. The landlord, McDowell Mountain Retail, was represented by Adam Madison of Cushman Wakefield.
RETAIL- GREENWAY PARK PLAZA, PHOENIX, AZ
Arizona Greenway Hirani Investments, LLC, owners of Greenway Park Plaza at the northeast corner of Greenway Road and 32nd Street in Phoenix, AZ were represented by Larry Miller and John Jackson of Velocity Retail Group in the ten-year lease with El Gusano Night Club for a 1,319 square foot space. The owner, Randy Davis, estimates the new club will open in October of this year.
RETAIL – CHANDLER MERCADO, CHANDLER, AZ
A Cut Abovehair salon was represented by Brian Gast of Velocity Retail Group in the lease of 1,268-square-feet at Chandler Mercado on the northeast corner of Arizona Avenue andWarner Road. Gast also represented the landlord in the signing of the three-year lease. This is A Cut Above’s first store in the Phoenix market and is set to open in August.
RETAIL – NORTH OF THE NE CORNER OF TATUM RD. & DYNAMITE RD., PHOENIX, AZ
Andy Kroot of Velocity Retail Group represented Goodwill Industries of Central Arizona in a two-year lease of 1,228-square-feet north of the northeast corner of Tatum Road and Dynamite Road in Phoenix, AZ. The landlord was represented by Trevor Clinch and John Trujillo of DeRito Partners. The site will be a new donation center for Goodwill, and is expected to open in November of 2014.
RETAIL- SE CORNER OF CAREFREE HWY. & 27th AVE. PHOENIX, AZ
Goodwill Industries of Central Arizona was represented by Andy Kroot of Velocity Retail in the three-year lease of 1,232-square-feet at the southeast corner of Carefree Highway and 27th Avenue, in Phoenix, AZ. Landlord Terra Carefree LLC was represented by Robert McKnight and Justin Rihs of DeRito Partners. The site will be a new donation center, and will open in October of this year.
