Dramatic Growth Leads ABC Ambulance CEO to Participate in Trend Towards User Ownership
Phoenix, Arizona – Riverview Drive, LLC has purchased a freestanding office building at 3118 E. McDowell Rd. and leased it to ABC Ambulance as its new headquarters. ABC has been growing quickly over the last year and needed its own stand-alone building for their specialized services.
“The buyer was very interested in acquiring this particular office building because of its excellent location,” says Greg Hopley, executive vice president with Colliers International in Greater Phoenix. “Moreover, this was a strategic purchase by the CEO of the company allowing acquisition of additional square footage to accommodate future expansion in Phoenix. The commercial real estate community has witnessed a growing trend of companies seeking ownership of freestanding properties.”
“We quickly realized that this office building offered everything we need to successfully expand our business,” says Neal Thomas, CEO of Riverview Drive, LLC and ABC Ambulance. “We will move into the facility with 50 employees, but plan to grow that figure to 100 in the very near future. We are experiencing excellent growth here in Phoenix and believe this is the ideal site for dynamic expansion.” Thomas has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare transportation industry and was the founding leader of ComTrans.
The 13,000-square-foot building was purchased by Riverview Drive, LLC for $1.175 million ($90 PSF). The highly successful ambulance company was in need of a corporate headquarters facility close to various hospitals and medical institutions. ABC provides ambulance transportation throughout the Greater Phoenix metro area. In addition to traditional medical clients, they specialize in services for the area’s behavioral health populations.
The newly remodeled building offers frontage to McDowell Road and features the built-out offices and conference room spaces required by ABC Ambulance. The secured parking lot also was an important element for the business. The building was originally constructed in 1988 and fully remodeled in 2014. ABC Ambulance will occupy a majority of the building and may lease the remainder to another company.
Hopley represented buyer in the purchase negotiations. MAC Training LLC, DBA MAC Service Experts sold the property and was represented by RE/MAX Realty.
