TUCSON, AZ (July 31, 2024) - The Southern Arizona CCIM Chapter is pleased to announce its upcoming luncheon on August 13th, featuring esteemed guest speakers Chris Poirier, AICP, Pima County Planning Official, and Koren Manning, Deputy Director for the City of Tucson Planning and Development Services Department. Both speakers will provide updates and insights on the Transit Oriented Development initiative.
Chris Poirier brings over 25 years of dedicated service in the Pima County Development Services Department. With a rich background rooted in Tucson, Chris and his team have significantly contributed to community enhancements through strategic code and policy revisions to reduce housing barriers. At the luncheon, Chris will share valuable updates and insights into the recently enacted Transit Oriented Development initiative, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to learn about the future of development in Pima County.
Koren Manning serves as Deputy Director for the City of Tucson Planning and Development Services Department. In this role, she advances sustainability, equity, and economic growth, promotes excellence in customer service, and fosters inclusive community engagement. Koren's impressive background includes her tenure as a Senior Planner and Team Leader in the Brooklyn Office of the NYC Department of City Planning. She holds a Masters of Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor's in Geography from the University of Arizona. Koren will provide valuable insights into the Transit Oriented Development initiative and discuss her department's ongoing efforts to enhance Tucson's planning and development landscape.
