Luncheon Followed by Renewal Class: Commercial Leasing Issues

Tucson, Arizona (May 24, 2023) - The Southern Arizona CCIM Chapter presents its June Meeting with panelists David Lyons, EVP and Southern Regional President at National Bank of Arizona, Paul Kraft, CEO of The Clove Company and Ted Herman, Director of Finance at Larsen Baker, moderated by Jason Wong, CCIM.

Attendees should may find answers to the following questions:

    • Did the Feds increase the interest rates too fast? Should the Feds have anticipated the bank failures?
    • What is the effect of the M2 money supply on the economy and commercial loans?
    • Why is the ratio of insured and uninsured deposits important to the bank?
    • Should assets for bankers, developers and investors be marked to value to acknowledge unrealized losses?
    • What sectors of real estate are lenders, developers and investors staying away from?
    • Are more bank failures coming?
    • Should the FDIC increase the insured deposit limit?
    • Is the Fed’s target of a 2.0% inflation rate reasonable?
    • Do you anticipate a recession or is the economy cooling?
    • What is a realistic rate of return for investors for industrial, retail, office and multi-family?
    • What are the terms NBA is seeking on commercial loans?
    • What is the loan spread between SOFR?
    • How can the banks/developers retain depositors/investors fleeing to safer treasuries?
    • How do banks protect/hedge their investments from a sudden rise in interest rates?
    • What yields are investors looking for with the increase in bank interest rates and the decline in real estate values?
    • Are investors and bankers asking developers to mark their projects to market values?
    • Are banks asking for new appraisals?
    • Are banks telling their borrowers their loans will not be renewed?
