(formerly TREO) in its April Prospect Overview is reporting strong activity in prospects for all types of business.  Since the beginning of FY 15/16, it has worked with 219 companies that resulted in 73 new qualified projects, bringing 1,560 new hires with an estimated economic impact of $1.3 billion to the Tucson region.

Current active prospects according to the April Sun Corridor prospects list are 52 active qualified projects in the pipeline, 10 are shortlisted projects that include a wide range of industry, including Aerospace & Defense, Bio & Health and Manufacturing.

With its proprietary high-altitude balloons, World View offers an accessible, affordable way to access near space for research and commercial payload purposes, as well as tourism.  Three to five year projections anticipate 450 new high-wage jobs and $40 million in capital expenditure. Estimated economic impacts are $ 384 million.

Geoworld USA, LLC

This Italian-based company is looking to relocate their World Headquarters from Italy to Southern Arizona. Geoworld now operates in four business areas: educational toys, jewels in semiprecious stones, furnishing accessories, and publishing. The new headquarters in Tucson will bring 25 jobs and estimated economic impacts are $ 28 million.

ADP is a well-known Fortune 500 global provider of cloud-based human capital management systems. The company plans to hire 450 employees. Total economic impact is $485 million.

Mathematica’s main focus is the innovation of programs to evaluate policy research. The company is expected to hire 75 new employees. Economic impacts are estimated at $35 million.

GW Plastics
