BROADWAY – EUCLID AVENUE TO COUNTRY CLUB ROAD
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT COMPLETION

TUCSON, ARIZONA, Oct. 19, 2022 -- The City of Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Council Member Richard Fimbres, Council Member Steve Kozachik, the Regional Transportation Authority, the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility, Rio Nuevo and the Sunshine Mile invite you to celebrate the completion of the Broadway Improvement Project from Euclid Avenue to Country Club Road on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

This two-mile-long improvement project includes six new travel lanes, landscaped medians, six-foot-wide bike lanes, sidewalks, and bus pullouts. A new 96-inch diameter underground storm drain system was also constructed throughout the project limits.

Following the speaker ceremony, attendees will be invited to visit local business booths at the event site and take a ride on a Sun Tran electric bus throughout the newly completed project.

The event will be held at the northeast corner of Broadway and Fremont Avenue (1105 E Broadway). Refreshments will be provided from a local restaurant on the corridor. Join us to commemorate this improvement project and the great businesses along the Sunshine Mile!

The Regional Transportation Authority, a political subdivision of the state and independently governed, has invested more than $1.4 billion in transportation projects and services to improve mobility, safety, economic vitality and quality of life in the region. The RTA collects a half-cent excise (sales) tax from its special taxing district within Pima County to fund its 20-year regional transportation plan. The plan and tax were approved by voters in May 2006. The Broadway Improvement Project is part of the RTA plan and is managed by the City of Tucson. For more information, visit www.RTAmobility.com
