PHOENIX, ARIZONA (June 7, 2023) – A successful “soft” launch of Simple Machine Brewing Company at the Gaslight Building in Downtown Glendale is opening the door for retail and residential leasing at the historic site.
Last year, NAI Horizon Managing Director | Retail, Matt Harper, CCIM, represented the landlord in a retail lease with Simple Machine Brewing Company at the Gaslight Building, 5743-5745 W. Glendale Ave., in Glendale, Arizona. Harper is also handling leasing for the newly opened retail space.
With suite sizes ranging from 630 SF to 3,510 SF, Harper said there are two spaces – the Grand Suite and the Boutique Suite – whose configurations include 630 SF, 2,880 SF, or 3,510 SF.
“With an outdoor patio as an added amenity, these are ideal spaces for restaurant tenants or similar,” Harper said. “Minimal tenant improvements are needed.”
The suites feature a gorgeous storefront with red brick, giant display windows, and historical exterior pendant light fixtures. Interior amenities include tall pressed-tin ceilings, a kitchen, a bar, a walk-in cooler, and a sprinkler system. There is plenty of free public parking.

Downtown Glendale attracts more than 1.6 million yearly visitors with its more than 150 unique and independently owned shops, boutiques, restaurants, and services. The property is centrally located in the heart of Downtown Glendale, adjacent to the $70 million renovation of Glendale City Hall, Murphy Park, and an outdoor concert venue.
Simple Machine Brewing Company had a “soft opening” in May. The official grand opening is scheduled for Father’s Day weekend, June 16-18. There will be live music daily, food from local restaurants, and unique food pop-ups, and Simple Machine Brewing Company will have some special beer releases.
The Gaslight Lofts are now available to lease (Faith Vance and Eric Herrmann of 3rd Base Realty Group are handling residential leasing 3rd3rd Base Realty Group). The lofts include three one-bedroom units and eight studio apartments. Modern amenities with historic features include kitchenettes with stainless appliances, quartz countertops, elevator service, pressed-tin ceilings, wood floors, and feature lighting.
